Wednesday Night=Sorority Information Night

Oh joy. I do not quite know how I feel about this yet, but I think Morgan would like me to be there and I know it will make Michelle happy for me to go and Amanda probably will not mind my being there too much either. I just hope that the "sisters" are not stuck up or meanly nice (you know, where you can tell they are only being nice because they: a) want something from you or b) they were told to be nice to you by their superior "sister" and you are not going to know how they really are until it is too late and you are already in), but I have met some of them a few times already so I am thinking that it should be fine. I just do not know if I like what sororoities stand for. I do think that is important to have female bonding and strong connections with other girls that can be your support when you really need it. But I also know that girls can be the meanest people in the world just short of dictators and Hitler and mass murders...that reminds me, I was curious about the Manson murders the other night so I looked it up online and then when I was helping my ma pick up the library bookdrop the other day I came across "Helter Skelter" a book about Charles Manson and the murders he got those kids to do for him.

Ok, it is now 11:37 pm and what I wrote previous to what I am writing now about the sorority should be disregarded. Though I am going to keep it in here so ya'll know what my opinion was before I went to the meeting tonight. The sorority is having a mocktail event next Thursday and I get to dress up (in my prom dress because it is the fanciest thing I own) and it should be fun. :) We played mildly dirty Jenga (pretty gifted with the Jenga) and Chubby Bunny (which I suck at) and we had name tags and for the last 20 mins we just socialized.

Let me start at the beginning of the night. I went over to Candace's this afternoon to hang out with Morgan and Lindsey and Stan (I accidentally called Ann and Starshine that yesterday evening to Joshua) and Morgan made this mac 'n cheese thing I made at the last communal meal I cooked at. I cannot decide if I like mine with the garlic or hers without better. I'm leaning towards without actually. So we sat down and had dinner and it was delicious and wonderful though I think I am becoming lactose intolerant because after I ate my stomach felt like it was in knots and I was having some digestive issues. Dinner was over around 7 and then clean up happened and I put on make up and put my bangs back and then Michelle showed up and we went downtown to Starbucks and she bought us coffee and she gave us a chance to ask questions because after we went to the meeting all the secret stuff was actually going to be secret so we asked a little bit and right when we were getting up to leave Sara, Race, Devin, Katie, Jordon, and Alicia came in so I caught up with a few of them and apparently was being a social butterfly (as Morgan called me) and then we went to the parking garage and drove to the sorority house. We got there and then we filled out an emergency contact info sheet and were called back one by one for an "interview" (which I thought was fun) and then we played games that got us pretty used to each other.

In short, my evening was fun though I do not look forward to getting up at 6:30 am tomorrow. I am just happy that I am driving tomorrow morning because I am bringing my mama's cardboard cutout of John Wayne to my film class tomorrow because we are watching Stage Coach and I could not resist the urge. :)

Good night and sweet dreams ya'll.
